New! Who Will Feed Us Podcast
The NFU Youth are thrilled to announce the launch of “Who Will Feed Us”, a podcast from farmer’s mouths to eater’s ears.
This one-off podcast series introduces listeners to the forces that shape how our food is produced and the solutions needed to build a more just, and ecologically sustainable system in Canada, all through the perspective of young farmers from across the country.
We’re not exactly telling a farm to table story, but we are going to explore some of the foundational concepts that uphold our current food system. Exposing the underpinnings of this broken system is a part of the story, but we’ll also outline an alternative food future, including tools and actions to help us get there.
This series recognizes the goals of the National Farmers Union and aspires to raise awareness about our food system to the masses. As a member of the NFU, you know the importance and strength behind mobilizing as a union. By bringing farmer’s issues to the ears of eaters and beyond, we hope to build momentum towards building a more just and sustainable food system.
Join us in this journey as we learn about migrant farm labour, climate change impacts in agriculture, Indigenous food sovereignty, land access, agroecology, and more. You won’t want to miss out on these incredible new series! It will be available everywhere you find podcasts!
Listen in starting on May 15th, 2022! Together, we learn and together, we grow!
