About the project
Depth of Field is a series of 40 short documentaries produced and presented by the National Farmers Union and March Forth Creative.
The films showcase Canadian farmers and farm workers, and their sustainable farming practices on and off the land. Rotational grazing, seed saving, building healthy soils, and working for social justice–different farmers highlight their own priorities and, together, these unscripted films tell the story of farming practices that would create the food system we all want.
The National Farmers Union wants to inspire Canadian food consumers to learn more about the work of farming, and the thoughtful commitment of farmers in communities all across Canada, like the ones featured in Depth of Field, contributes to building a thriving food system that benefits people and the land. Don’t miss the chance to meet the hardworking farmers, farm workers, producers and land stewards who grow food in Canada.
“In the face of climate change, our farmers are taking action to ensure their production processes are increasingly more sustainable. Organizations like [the National Farmers Union] that showcase the sector’s leadership in sustainability are helping to build public trust in Canada’s food system,” said the Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food about Depth of Field.
