Elmer Laird (1924 – 2010), a founding member of the National Farmers Union, was inducted into the Saskatchewan Agricultural Hall of Fame in 2008. He established the first certified organic research farm in Canada, and wrote about organic food production for over twenty years. The Saskatchewan Organic Directorate (SOD) has compiled Elmer’s writings, and the document is now posted on the SOD website. SOD has also produced a series of short videos featuring Elmer Laird, including the Hall of Fame ceremony.
