Region 6 Executive/Council would like to invite you to the annual summer picnic, at the Gardiner Dam visitor centre park, Sunday, July 23rd, beginning at 12 noon. Mark your calendars for a time of good food, sharing, networking, and good company!
The Gardiner Dam is located at the north end of Lake Diefenbaker—108 km from Saskatoon, 211 km from Regina, and 201 km from Swift Current. If you are 65 or over, entry to the park and picnic area is free. If not, it is $11/car or free if you have a seasonal pass to the provincial parks. Our event will be near the Visitor Centre (open 9 to 5 pm, phone 1-306-8575500).

There are 2 campsites about 10 minutes from the Visitor Centre. One at Danielson Provincial Park is full service and costs $33/night. The other at Caldwell Park has no water or electricity and rents for$20/night. Permits for camping can be bought online (at parks.saskatchewan.ca) or at the information desk at the Visitor Centre. Alternatively, you could book accommodation at a motel at Outlook or Elbow.
The gathering will start at 12 noon with a potluck lunch located on the grassed and treed area next to the beach by the Visitor Centre.
No pets allowed directly on the beach. There are picnic tables, but these may be in use.
There will be educational and sharing activities after the lunch. The featured presenter will be Emily Eaton, talking about her new co-edited book, The End of This World: Climate Justice in So-Called Canada.
