Join us for an informative evening of speakers, updates, and democratic process at the Region 8 Convention. This convention will be held online over Zoom.
This year’s speakers will include:
- Abra Brynne: Food policy expert and advocate, lead author of the Equity Framework for Farmers for Climate Solutions
- Arzeena Hamir: Owner of Amara Farm, Vice Chair of the Board of the Comox Valley Regional District, and key advisor on the Equity Framework for Farmers for Climate Solutions
- Brooke Hayes: Chair of the Farmer Mental Health Working Group and a PhD student at the University of Victoria studying the connection between soil health and farmer well-being.
- Katherine Aske: Chair of the Farmland Access & Action Committee and recent guest on Episode 3 of the Who Will Feed Us podcast
- Katie Ward: NFU President
We hope you’ll tune in on September 28th and invite friends to come learn more about current issues affecting our region’s agricultural landscape, as well as get updates from both regional and national leaders in the NFU.
