NFU Region 5 (Manitoba) Annual Convention

March 8, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 5:30 pm CST

$25 – $35

Registration fee: $35 for non-members and $25 for members. Youth under 26 can attend for free. Lunch buffet soup and sandwich is included with registration.

Speakers:

Martin Entz, U of M Professor and Organic Researcher speaking on Regenerative Agricultural Practices;

Matthew Wiens, Manitoba Agriculture – in charge of Best Management Programming delivery to MB Farmers and Made in Manitoba’s Climate Action Plan;

Katie Ward, NFU President: NFU Updates and Discussion (via Skype);

Stewart Wells, NFU VP of Operations: Discussion NFU policies on Regenerative Agriculture & Seeds.

50th Anniversary of NFU in Manitoba Discussions: Members Forum and NFU 50th Anniversary Convention in Winnipeg Updates. Open to more ideas on our celebration.

Elections: Two National Board members for Region 5; a Women’s Advisory Committee member; a Youth Advisory Committee member; an International Program Committee representative.

Nomination for the NFU Grassroots Member Award: Member Recognition of significant contribution to building the NFU.

Resolutions: Please bring written resolution(s) on farming issues that matter to you. They will be debated and voted on; if they are passed, they will be forwarded to National Convention.
