The Region 6, District 3 (south western Saskatchewan) will be holding its Annual District Convention on Saturday, January 26, 2019 in the meeting room at the Modern Family Restaurant, Swift Current, SK, 49 Central Ave N.
The meeting will commence at 3:00 P.M. Dinner will be ordered off the menu.
The District Annual Convention is one of the cornerstones of the democratic process in the NFU, so it’s absolutely vital that you, your spouse and your children over the age of 14 exercise your right to participate. Resolutions may be presented and considered at this Convention; if passed, they will go to the National Convention for possible adoption as NFU national policy. Another purpose of this Convention is to elect from among the members of the Union in your district, a District Director, a Women’s District Director and a Youth District Director.
Our keynote speaker will be Cam Goff, speaking on the corporate seed industry’s efforts to bring in new royalties to keep farmers from using farm-saved seed — and what the NFU is doing to protect farmers’ age-old right to freely save and reuse our own seed.
