ED SAGAN IS NEW REGION 6 COORDINATOR IN SASKATCHEWAN

Saskatoon, Sask. - The National Farmers Union (NFU) is pleased to announce that Ed Sagan is the new Regional Coordinator for NFU Region 6 (Saskatchewan). Sagan operates a grain farm and also runs a small seed plant in the Melville area and has been an NFU member for over 20 years.

“I am very pleased to be able to serve the farmers of Saskatchewan as NFU Coordinator. There are many issues facing Saskatchewan farmers right now, such as the on-going threat to the Canadian Wheat Board’s single desk, railway service problems and overcharging, and their will probably more flooding problems this spring. I’m also really concerned about the free trade agreement with Europe currently being negotiated. When all of this stuff is going on, the NFU plays a very important role in advocating on farmers’ behalf. I’m looking forward to the challenge,” stated Sagan.

“Ed Sagan brings a great wealth of experience and wisdom to the Region 6 Coordinator position in Saskatchewan. He will definitely be an asset at the NFU Board table, and as an advocate for the hard working farm families of Saskatchewan,” stated NFU President Terry Boehm.

Sagan takes over from Glenn Tait who stepped aside earlier this year to run in the federal election, after serving in the position for 4 years. “Ed definitely knows farming in Saskatchewan. He’ll be a real fighter for the best interests of farmers. I wish him all the best,” said Tait.
