NFU condems government for rushing critical environment bill

In an August 26th, 1999 news release, NFU Region 3 (Ontario) Coordinator Peter Dowling criticized the government for pushing Bill C-32 through the House and Senate before the NFU and other groups have a chance to formally comment on the Bill and its contents.

The NFU has worked for 30 years for policies and legislation which protects the environment and which sustains agricultural lands for future generations. The NFU has promoted measures to protect streams, control soil erosion, and find alternatives to agricultural chemicals.
