Region 5 Manitoba Regional Convention 2016

You are invited to the Region 5 Annual Convention which will be held Saturday, July 9th 2016 at the Riverbank Discovery Centre, 545 Conservation Dr, Brandon, Manitoba with the theme: Farming for the Public Good.
The Convention will commence at 10:00 A.M. and adjourn at 5:30 P.M.  The registration fee is $35 for non-members & $25 for members and youth under 26. 
Lunch will be provided and there will be a potluck barbecue after the convention.  Please bring meat to barbecue, veggies, entrĂ©e, refreshments, cutlery and lawn chairs.

  • The NFU and You: Linking policy work with running our farms– a discussion of the practical benefits of NFU membership and the value of including farmers’ knowledge in the public policy process.  This will be led by an address from NFU President Jan Slomp, with Q & A
  • Keeping the public informed 
  • Two National Board members; Women’s Advisory Committee representative; Youth Advisory member representative; and International Program Committee representative
  • Nomination for the NFU Grassroots Member Award – Recognition of significant contribution to building the NFU
  • Opening for members to be part of a Region 5 Outreach Team


Please bring your written resolution(s) about the issues for debate.  Resolutions on current policy issues may be presented to this Convention and, if they are passed, they will be forwarded to National Convention.
