Nineteen year old Ken Mills was born into farming and the National Farmers Union.  Dinsmore Farms has been in his family for generations. 
 
What do you produce?
We direct market beef and pork as well as share cropping 50 acres conventionally and growing pasture, forage and grain for our own uses.
 
Size of farm?
100 acres with 9 acres of hardwood bush at the back and 87 acres workable land.
 
Number of years farming?
I have never really started or stopped farming.

Location: Grimshaw, AB
What do you produce?  I produce about 35 different varieties of vegetables.  I am on my families mixed farm and we raise and sell certified organic grass-fed beef and lamb, as well as pastured pork. 
Number of years farming: 4
Farming background: I grew up on my families mixed farm, which means chores - chores - and more chores!  I was the 12 year old kid who in speech competitions made my opening line, “Have you ever seen chicken poo fly?  Well I have!”, I think that sums it up a bit.

Age: 32 (and 29)
Farm name: Broadfork Farm
Location: River Hebert, Nova Scotia
What do you produce? Organic mixed vegetables, herbs, cut flowers, some fruit, a little bit of vegetable seed production, and a small flock of laying hens.
Size of farm? Our farm is 15 acres. We create our livelihood from about 2 acres though.
Number of years farming? 10 years total, 3 years running Broadfork Farm, 2 years on the land we own.
Farming background? I didn’t grow up on a farm.
